Class Schedule:

Grading:

Reading:

Each week you will read about 2 chapters from the textbook. See class schedule for details.

Michael Girvin’s PowerPoints and Videos:

Each week you review Michael Girvin’s PowerPoints and Videos. You can access the PowerPoints and videos in the Lessons area of our Angel web site. See class schedule for details.

Angel Tests:

There is one test each week. You can watch the Introductory Class Video to see how to take a Test. The tests will be multiple choice and True / False questions. Questions will come from the textbook content and the Michael Girvin’s PowerPoints and videos. For final grading, your two lowest test scores will be subtracted. The weekly tests will be available between 9 AM Monday morning and noon on Friday. The weekly test will be removed at noon each Friday. If you do not take the test during this time period, you cannot retake the test unless there is a documented emergency. An example of a documented emergency is if you can provide an emergency room visit receipt or doctor’s note. Do not post questions about the tests to the Discussion Board.

Cheating on a test:

You cannot have someone else take the test for you. You cannot talk to others about the test. You cannot post question on Angel about the test. If you cheat, you will earn a zero grade for the class.

Discussion Board Post Rules:

You can make at least 2 posts per week and earn 2 points for those 2 posts. You can post more than 2 times per week, but no points will be earned. You can watch the Introductory Class Video to see how to make a Discussion Board Post. When you post, you must write your own ideas, spell/grammar check the post, and add something beneficial to the discussion (example: your post must not just say something like; “I agree”). Discussion Board Posts that do not follow these guidelines will be removed from the Discussion Board. The weekly Discussion Board will be available between 9 AM Monday morning and noon on Friday. The weekly Discussion Board will be removed at noon each Friday. Do not post questions about the tests to the Discussion Board. You are required to read all Discussion Board Posts.

Communication Rules:

The teacher will communicate with students through Angel Announcements and Discussion Board Posts. E-mail will not be used. There are only two reasons that a student can send an e-mail to the teacher: 1) The student has a question about a test and 2) The student has a personal matter to discuss. All other questions must be posted at the Discussion Board. The teacher will monitor the Discussion Board and E-mail Monday through Friday, 9AM to 2PM (5 hours a day, 5 hours a week).

E-Mail Rules:

If the student has a question about a test or a personal matter to discuss, the student can send an email that follows these rules:

Here is an example of an e-mail that follows these rules:

Subject Line: Busn 210, Question about Test 1

Dear Michael Girvin,

The True/False Question number 20 on Test 1 said the following: “Revenue is the amount a business earns above and beyond what it spends for expenses and costs”. I answered false because I thought the terms earnings and revenues were the same.

Are the terms earnings and revenues were the same?

Sincerely, Suiox Radcoolinator
