Saving work: Make sure you log out of Academic Systems properly so that your work will be saved. To do this, quit the lesson, ignore the recommended homework, then choose to log off of the system.
Computer difficulties: If you have computer or internet service provider problems which prevent you from participating, you are responsible for informing me by telephone immediately and you will be expected to find alternate computers to use (such as in the Instructional Computing Center (Building 30) on campus) until your computer problems are fixed, so you will be able to finish the course on time. If you need or want to use these computers, stop at the helpdesk on the main floor and a technician will show you which computers to use and how to log on. You are expected to keep in contact with me, using e-mail and should you have computer or internet service provider problems which prevent you from receiving and sending e-mail you are responsible for informing me by telephone immediately.
Computer Problems Helpline: If you are having problems with your computer and Academic Systems, first print the screen or write down the error message in full. Check to make sure you are still connected to the Internet, as many errors occur because you have been disconnected. Reconnect before exiting any section of a lesson. Academic Systems does not save data until you finish a lesson and exit. Then, check the technical support WWW pages for the course. If problems persist, call the helpline at 206-592-4357 or e-mail them at ichelp@highline.edu.
Installation: If the installation seems to be buggy, consider copying the installer to the desktop and installing from there. To do this, open the Client installer:
- click
- choose
- then run the installer off of your desktop
